Hi Eatfruit,
This system is working great for me. Making lunches is actually easier for me now. Yes, I put it in an insulated tote to keep things cool. I’ll post a new lunch and photos this week – we’re getting back in the swing of things too I meant to order a “real” bento box, but I never got around to getting one. I love the craft box. I use the top and bottom too, but not together. If I have bigger items, like a cutout sandwich, I used the undivided box. I would try making bento lunches with a box you already have and see how it works for you and your child. You can always buy a bento box later. Good luck! Let me know how it works for you.

I know this is a year later but how does this system work for you now? Still good? Do you put it all in an insulated tote then to keep things cool? Thanks for any info. I need to get planned for next week, and if I could go this route instead of having to order a bento online and pay for shipping that would be awesome!

Hi Mary,
I’m not sure what you mean by ironing the transfer paper onto the pillow. My pillow is an insert that goes into a fabric cover. Do you mean I should iron it onto the fabric cover? I’m sure you could iron the transfer paper onto the fabric directly, but your photo won’t be very clear on colored fabric and this particular fabric has embroidered flowers, so the surface is not good for transfer paper. I hope this answers your question.
