Here are my handmade birthday invitations for CJ’s upcoming 5th birthday. I can’t believe my baby will be 5! When I ask CJ if he’s still my baby he tells me “Yes Mommy, but I’m still big.” I know baby, I know.
CJ wanted a rocket/space theme this year and since I couldn’t find any rocket/space birthday supplies at my local party stores I had to improvise. After searching online I found these. I thought they were so cute I decided to make my own version. I pasted a clip art rocket into a Microsoft Publisher greeting card template and then printed them on card paper. I cut out the rocket leaving the left edge intact. The “metal” rivets are made from Scribbles 3-D paint. I like how they turned out and I think CJ likes them too – he has been carrying one around the house and making rocket sounds.
For more details about these invitations see my post Rocket Invitations (part 2).

they look great! i would have loved to have found rocket clip-art when i was making mine. (i was deathly afraid of unsymmetrical space ships it seems.) but yours look so professional, and i like the colors.
How fun!! Ben loves rockets too and I wish we lived closer so we could come to the party!! We’re doing a NASCAR/racing theme for Ben’s party…….afterall, we do live in NASCAR country now!! (when in Rome…..).

Hi Catherine,
I’m glad you liked my rocket invitations – they were fun to make. Try this link and see if you can download the clip art. If not, let me know and I’ll see what I can do.

Just type in rocket in the search box. The rocket I used is on page 10 of 17.
Good luck!
