I think my boy wants to be a rock star. He put on his green rock-n-roll t-shirt yesterday and said “Yeah, rock-n-roll!” But it sorta came out “Yeaaaah, rock-n-rooooll.” (Sigh) Obviously CJ and his Daddy have been listening to way too much of the Led Zeppelin Chanel on XM Satellite Radio, and coming up with new rocker hairstyles.
Yes, they [...]

Boxed Letter Cushions

I saw photos of these lovely pillows online at Apartment Therapy’s kids’ area – Ohdeedoh. They are made by a talented woman named Yvonne Eijkenduijn who lives in The Netherlands. The fabrics are beautiful – I especially like the blue “L”. Note the contrasting fabric on each letter – so cool. They are probably too girly for DA & CJ, [...]
Organizing: The Grocery List

One of the tools that I use to stay organized is my weekly Grocery List. In the early days of my marriage my husband and I tried to plan meals but still ended up going to the grocery store 2-3 times per week. At the time it didn’t seem like a chore because we lived [...]

We went to Vehicle Day at CJ’s preschool this weekend. Vehicle Day is a fundraiser for the school where local companies donate their vehicles to be viewed and crawled all over by hundreds of kids and their parents.
It’s actually a lot of fun – even parents get a kick out of the vehicles. Seriously, [...]

I’m off to a bake sale for CJ’s preschool today. I wanted to bake something other than cookies or cupcakes, and scones were the first thing that came to mind. These scones are very easy to make and are a perfect sweet breakfast treat or afternoon tea snack. They are one of my favorites!
I added milk chocolate chips to [...]

Yesterday in the car…
CJ: “I love you Mommy, because you’re always right.”
Me: “Uh thanks, I love you too.”
CJ: “Mommy, even when you’re wrong you’re right.”
Me:”Thank you (laughing hysterically).”
Now if I can only keep him thinking this way for the next 18 years or so.
Last week…
Me: “Why are you fiddling with the front of your pants? [...]

Here are my handmade birthday invitations for CJ’s upcoming 5th birthday. I can’t believe my baby will be 5! When I ask CJ if he’s still my baby he tells me “Yes Mommy, but I’m still big.” I know baby, I know.
CJ wanted a rocket/space theme this year and since I couldn’t find any rocket/space [...]

We went to see Dan Zanes & Friends in concert recently. We had a blast! CJ and I had seen some of his videos on Playhouse Disney, but seeing him live was so much fun.
One thing that made the evening even more special was how Dan encouraged the kids and parents to come down [...]

Finally I have a blog. After many weeks of contemplation I am finally putting myself out there – hopefully I don’t get lost!
I hope to share many things with my friends and family and any new friends who happen along too. So watch and see what happens…
